PRP Hair Restoration

Regrow. Strengthen. Restore - with your own biology.

From £255 per session

Autologous PRP uses a small sample of your own blood, concentrating platelets that release growth factors (PDGF, TGF‑β, VEGF) to signal repair, collagen formation and angiogenesis in the dermis. We use it to support texture, fine lines, tone and under‑eye quality when clinically appropriate

What is PRP Hair Therapy?

PRP (Platelet-Rich Plasma) therapy is a regenerative treatment that uses your own blood platelets to re-activate dormant or weakened hair follicles. After drawing a small blood sample, we separate the platelet-rich layer using a medical centrifuge. This layer contains concentrated growth factors:

● VEGF – builds new blood vessels around follicles

● IGF-1 – extends the hair growth (anagen) phase

● PDGF – recruits stem cells, repairs follicle environment

● FGF – stimulates dermal papilla cell activity

● TGF-β – regulates inflammation and tissue repair

Together, these growth factors wake up miniaturised hairs, reduce shedding, thicken hair shafts, and improve scalp health.

Why Choose PRP at Dr Hans Clinics?

We don’t run a conveyor belt model of hair loss clinics. Every treatment is evidence-driven, documented, and tailored:

● Trichoscopy analysis before and after → objective follicle count, density, calibre

● Medical photography → standardised lighting and angles

● Dermastamp included → evidence shows controlled vertical stamping improves platelet distribution and follicular stimulation, with less epidermal trauma compared to rollers or pens

● Tailored combination plans → PRP is combined with medical therapies if appropriate (finasteride, minoxidil, nutritional optimisation, scalp health)

● Treatment reports → clear records of progress

Consultation Options

● In-person consultation (£50, redeemable against treatment): Includes full scalp exam, trichoscopy imaging, medical history, and treatment plan.

● Free online consultation (15 min): For advice, eligibility check, and answering questions. Diagnostic trichoscopy is only possible in person.

Treatment Areas

● Scalp PRP – for thinning, shedding, and density improvement

● Eyebrow PRP – restores over-plucked or thinning brows

● Beard PRP – improves patchiness and hair calibre

Microneedling – Why Dermastamp, Not Pen?

We use dermastamping, not a microneedling pen, for a simple reason: evidence and precision.

Controlled depth: Stamps deliver uniform vertical micro-channels at exact depth (1.5–2.0 mm for scalp), directly where follicles sit.

Less epidermal drag: Pens can cause shear trauma, scratching the surface and increasing downtime.

Better platelet absorption: Stamped channels act like “wells” for PRP, ensuring retention instead of bleeding out.

Evidence: Peer-reviewed trials (e.g., Dhurat et al., Int J Trichology 2013; Gupta et al., J Cutan Aesthet Surg 2021) show stamping with PRP outperforms PRP alone, with higher hair counts and shaft thickness.

Who is PRP Hair Therapy For?

✅ Men with androgenetic alopecia (Norwood stages 2–5)

✅ Women with diffuse thinning (Ludwig stages I–II)

✅ Post-stress or illness related shedding (Telogen Effluvium)

✅ Patients looking to maintain results after a hair transplant

✅ Those who want a non-surgical, natural, and safe option

Treatment Journey

Session: 45–60 minutes (blood draw, PRP prep, injections, dermastamp)

Recovery: Mild redness or tightness for 24 hours, normal activity same day

Results timeline:
○ ↓ Shedding = 4–6 weeks
○ ↑ Density and calibre = 3–4 months
○ Continued improvement up to 12 months

Honest Evidence

PRP is not a miracle cure. Results depend on:

● Stage of hair loss (early = better response)

● Follicle viability (dead follicles cannot be revived)

● Consistency of treatment and maintenance

● Lifestyle, pre existing Medical conditions and quality of blood

For many, PRP slows loss, thickens existing hair, and improves scalp health. For advanced baldness, PRP is often combined with surgery or systemic therapies for best results.

FAQ'S

How many sessions do I need?

Most patients need 3-6 sessions spaced 4–6 weeks apart, followed by maintenance every 6–12 months depending on response.

● ↓ Shedding: 4–6 weeks

● ↑ Thickness & density: 3–4 months

● Continued gains: up to 12 months

Mild discomfort during injections. We use fine needles, dermastamp, and numbing if needed. Most patients tolerate it well.

Yes. Since PRP uses your own blood, there’s no risk of allergy or rejection. Side effects are usually limited to mild redness, swelling, or tightness for 24 hours.

PRP works on weakened, miniaturised follicles, not areas where follicles are completely gone. Early intervention = better results.
