Temple Rejuvenation - Restoring Support & Softness to the Upper Face

Temporal hollowing occurs with age as both bone and soft-tissue volume decrease in the temple fossa. This loss causes a sunken or skeletal appearance, flattening the lateral brow and upper face contour. At Dr Hans Clinics, temple rejuvenation is performed to restore support while maintaining natural curvature – never overfilling or distorting the orbital contour. We use CE-certified hyaluronic acid (HA) fillers, such as Kysense®, Juvederm®, Belotero®, and Revanesse®, chosen for their integration, safety profile, and reversibility. Each treatment follows a full medical consultation, anatomical mapping, and prescriber clearance.

HOW TEMPLE FILLER WORKS

● Volume in the temple area declines due to fat pad atrophy and bone resorption of the temporal crest.

● By carefully replenishing deep and superficial compartments, HA filler restores a smooth contour, supporting the lateral brow and upper cheek junction.

Mechanism:

    ● Deep supraperiosteal placement replenishes bony loss at the temporal crest.

    ● Superficial subcutaneous layers add soft-tissue volume to blend with surrounding regions.

    ● Cannula technique ensures safety by avoiding key vessels (superficial temporal artery, middle temporal vein).

Onset: Immediate

Peak: 1 – 2 Weeks

Duration: 9 – 18 months

WHY PATIENTS CHOOSE DR HANS CLINICS

● All procedures performed by medical injectors trained in vascular-safe temple rejuvenation.

● Conservative dosing to maintain natural concavity and prevent lateral fullness.

● CE-marked HA fillers with known reversibility and safety record.

● Quantificare 3D imaging used to document volumetric improvement objectively.

EVIDENCE & SAFETY

● Temple augmentation has been clinically validated as safe and effective when performed by experienced practitioners using cannula-based methods (Aesthetic Surg J 2020; J Clin Aesthet Dermatol 2021).

● Common transient effects: mild soreness or swelling for 24 – 48 h.

●Rare complications: vascular occlusion or bruising – mitigated through aspiration, slow injection, and adherence to anatomical landmarks.

Contraindications Active infection, pregnancy, anticoagulant use, or history of filler migration in the region.

TREATMENT PLAN & TECHNIQUE

Consultation: Medical history and facial analysis.

Technique: Deep supraperiosteal boluses followed by superficial feathering for contour continuity.

Instrument: Blunt-tip microcannula for vascular safety.

Anaesthesia: Topical or local if required.

Procedure time: Approximately 30 – 40 minutes including assessment.

TIMELINE OF RESULTS

Immediately: Softening of hollowness and smoother contour.

2 weeks: Full integration with tissue and correction visible in photographs.

6 – 12 months : Stable volume retention with gradual physiological resorption thereafter.

12 – 18 months: Gradual resorption; review recommended.
