At Dr Hans Clinics London, PRF EZ Gel Biofiller – also called Plasmagel Biofiller or simply PRF Biofiller; is made entirely from your own blood. Nothing added, nothing synthetic. A small sample is drawn, processed to separate the plasma, and prepared into a hybrid injectable that can be placed into areas where the skin has started to hollow or lose its early structure.
Most patients who come in for PRF EZ Gel Biofiller aren’t looking for a dramatic change. They’ve noticed the under-eye area looking a little more hollow, or the skin around the mouth sitting differently than it used to. They want something that addresses that quietly, without fillers, without the look of having had something done. That’s the space this treatment occupies.
PRF EZ Gel Biofiller; sometimes referred to as Plasma Gel, Plasmagel, or EZ Gel; is an autologous injectable treatment. Autologous means it comes from you. There are no synthetic polymers, no hyaluronic acid chains, no foreign material introduced into the skin.
The process works by separating your blood into its components and using two of them together. The plasma is heated in a controlled way to form a gel — this is the Plasmagel, or Biofiller scaffold. That gel is then combined with liquid PRF (Platelet-Rich Fibrin), which retains active platelets and growth factors from your blood. The two are mixed and injected into the treatment area.
The gel provides a soft, immediate structural effect in the area. The PRF component works more gradually, signalling the tissue to repair and regenerate over the following weeks. Most treatments that go by the name PRF EZ Gel Biofiller are doing something in this region, though the exact preparation varies between clinics. At Dr Hans Clinics, we use both components together, not gel alone, because we think the regenerative element matters.
EZ Gel is a patented American system that standardises plasma gel preparation. The patent covers the heating process, tubes, and devices used.
In practice, a lot of clinics use the term EZ Gel without using the actual patented system. They’re preparing plasma gel through a similar heating method, just not the branded one. The results are broadly comparable because the underlying biology is the same, you’re heating plasma proteins to form a gel, but patients should know the terminology isn’t always precise.
There’s also something worth being clear about: when plasma is heated to form Plasmagel, the platelets are largely denatured in that process. The gel part of PRF EZ Gel Biofiller works mainly as a temporary structural scaffold, not as a regenerative treatment in itself. That’s why at Dr Hans Clinics we combine it with liquid PRF, to retain the growth factors and give patients both effects rather than just one.
The change is subtle, and that’s usually the point.
In the days immediately after a PRF Biofiller treatment, the area may look slightly fuller. There’s some localised swelling, and the gel itself adds a small amount of immediate volume. That initial effect settles over the first week or two as swelling resolves and the body begins absorbing the scaffold.
What remains is more gradual. Over the following four to eight weeks, the PRF component stimulates the tissue, improving skin quality, supporting collagen formation, and gently improving the density of the area. Patients describe it as the skin looking less tired, more supported, without anything having visibly changed in a way they could point to.
PRF EZ Gel Biofiller is not a volume treatment in the way dermal fillers are. It’s not going to add structural projection to the cheeks or replace significant volume loss. If that’s what’s needed, we’ll say so and discuss what would actually work.
The treatment works best in areas where there’s mild hollowing, early volume loss, or skin that has started to look thinner or more crepey. Common treatment areas include:
The suitability of PRF EZ Gel Biofiller depends on what’s actually happening in the skin, not just where the patient wants it. That’s assessed at consultation.
PRF Biofiller tends to suit patients who are looking for a natural, autologous approach, people who are bothered by early changes but don’t want synthetic filler, or who have had filler before and want to move away from it. It also suits patients who are happy with gradual results and understand that maintaining them requires repeat sessions.
It’s less suited to patients expecting a significant or immediate result. If the area has significant volume loss, if structural support is needed, or if there’s marked laxity, PRF EZ Gel Biofiller is unlikely to deliver enough of an effect on its own. We’ll discuss the alternatives if that’s the situation.
Not suitable for: patients with active skin infection, bleeding disorders, platelet dysfunction, severe anaemia, or those who are pregnant or breastfeeding. Anticoagulation therapy that cannot be paused is also a contraindication. We assess this at consultation.
The process takes around 45 to 60 minutes including the blood draw and preparation. A small amount of blood is taken; typically 10 to 20ml, using specialist tubes. This is centrifuged to separate the layers, and the plasma is then prepared into the PRF EZ Gel Biofiller using a controlled heating process before being combined with liquid PRF.
The injection itself is brief. Before the injections begin, a topical numbing cream is applied and left to take effect. Most patients find the treatment fairly straightforward once that’s in place, some feel mild pressure, others notice a brief sharpness depending on the area, but it passes quickly and isn’t something most people find difficult to sit through. Afterwards, the treated area can look a little fuller than expected and may feel tender to touch. A degree of bruising or puffiness is normal and tends to clear up within two to three days.
Most patients return to their day the same day. Keeping things calm for the rest of the day helps; that means skipping the gym, staying out of the sauna, and avoiding alcohol. SPF every morning until the skin has fully settled.
The gel side of things doesn’t stay permanently, the body breaks it down gradually, and most patients find the effect from a single session holds for a few weeks (2-12 weeks depending on individual factors). Most patients find the results from a single session last somewhere between three and six months, depending on their metabolism, the area treated, and how well their tissue responds.
The regenerative effects of the PRF component build over time and can outlast the gel itself, the improvement in skin quality tends to be more durable than the immediate volume effect. With a course of three sessions, results tend to compound, and patients often find the interval between maintenance sessions extends.
There isn’t a fixed timeline. It depends on the individual, and we’ll give a more honest estimate once we’ve assessed your skin in person.

Pricing is confirmed at consultation depending on the areas treated and the complexity of your individual plan. If one session is appropriate, we’ll say that. If a course makes more sense, we’ll explain why.
PRF EZ Gel Biofiller is frequently marketed in ways that overstate what it does. Claims of long-lasting structural volume, permanent regeneration, or results comparable to dermal fillers aren’t supported by the current evidence. The published literature on plasma gel treatments is still relatively limited, and most studies are small and early in their design.
What we can say with reasonable confidence: PRF Biofiller improves subtle hollowing and early volume loss in suitable patients, delivers some regenerative stimulus through the PRF component, and does so without synthetic material. Results are real but modest, and maintenance is part of the treatment.
We think patients deserve to know that before they book. The consultation is where we work out whether this treatment makes sense for you, and if something else would work better, we’ll recommend that instead.
Evidence-based treatments in skin, hair, body and regenerative medicine. Safety, honesty, and precision at the heart of every procedure.

PRF EZ Gel is an injectable treatment made from your own blood, plasma component. A small blood sample is taken, processed, and prepared into a soft gel-like material by heating and then cooling the plasma that can be used to support skin quality, soften fine lines, and improve mild hollowing or crepiness in selected areas. The Plasma contains albumin a protein, that when heated and cooled turns into a gel.
PRF EZ Gel is commonly used for under-eye hollows, crepey under-eye skin, fine lines, mild facial volume loss, neck lines, décolletage, hands, and general skin quality improvement. It is best suited for subtle, natural-looking improvement rather than dramatic reshaping.
No. Dermal filler is usually made from hyaluronic acid and is designed to create volume, contour, and structure. PRF EZ Gel is made from your own blood and works more gently. It may provide soft tissue support, but it is not a direct replacement for filler.
Not better. Different.
PRF EZ Gel may be better for patients who want a softer, more natural approach, especially in delicate areas like the under-eyes. Filler may be better when stronger volume, contour, or structural correction is needed. The right choice depends on your anatomy, skin quality, and goals. PRF EZ gel is the albumin gel mixed with liquid PRF that is rich in growth factors. Longevity wise, dermal fillers last longer than EZ Gel. EZ gel is a temporary volumiser.
PRF EZ Gel can be a good option for selected under-eye concerns, especially thin skin, crepiness, mild hollowing, and tired-looking under-eyes. It is not ideal for severe eye bags, significant fat bulging, heavy skin laxity, or deep structural hollows.
It may help if the darkness is partly due to thin skin, poor skin quality, or mild hollowing. It is less likely to help dark circles caused mainly by pigmentation, genetics, visible veins, or shadowing from deeper facial anatomy. The key word being “may”. The evidence is not robust.
No. PRF EZ Gel does not remove true eye bags or fat bulging. If the concern is caused by under-eye fat pads, surgery or other treatment options may be more appropriate.
PRF EZ Gel works by combining platelet-rich fibrin with a gel-like plasma component. The gel gives temporary soft support, while the platelet-rich fibrin may support tissue repair, collagen activity, and skin quality over time. Results depend on your underlying biology, not wishful thinking.
PRF EZ Gel is autologous, meaning it is made from your own blood. However, natural does not mean risk-free or suitable for everyone. It is still an injectable medical aesthetic treatment and needs proper assessment.
PRP is usually a liquid platelet-rich plasma treatment that uses an anticoagulant to stop the blood from clotting, so not a 100% autologous. PRF contains a fibrin matrix and is often considered to have a slower-release profile. PRF EZ Gel is processed further into a thicker gel-like consistency, making it more suitable for soft tissue support and delicate areas.
Most patients need a course of treatment. A typical plan is 2 to 3 sessions, spaced around 4 to 8 weeks apart. Maintenance may be recommended depending on the area treated, your response, and your long-term goals.
Some patients notice early improvement within a few weeks, but the main changes usually develop gradually over several weeks to months. PRF EZ Gel is not an instant “filtered face” treatment. The results are short lived.
Results vary, but improvement may last several months. Longevity depends on the treatment area, skin quality, age, lifestyle, metabolism, and how many sessions are performed.
No. PRF EZ Gel is not permanent. The gel component gradually breaks down, and any skin quality improvement depends on your body’s tissue response. Maintenance treatments may be needed. It can last anywhere between 2-12 weeks depending on individual factors.
PRF EZ Gel is made from your own blood, which reduces the risk of allergy to the material itself. However, it is still an injectable treatment. Bruising, swelling, tenderness, infection, lumpiness, asymmetry, and rare vascular complications are possible. There is also a chance of a histamine release and reaction due to the growth factor and platelet content in the fluid.
Common side effects include swelling, bruising, redness, tenderness, mild lumpiness, and temporary unevenness. These usually settle within a few days, although under-eye swelling can sometimes last longer.
There is usually mild downtime. You may have swelling or bruising for a few days. If treating the under-eyes, it is sensible to avoid booking the treatment immediately before an important event.
Temporary lumpiness or unevenness can happen, especially in delicate areas. This is usually related to swelling, placement, or tissue response. Persistent lumps should be reviewed by your practitioner.
No. Unlike hyaluronic acid filler, PRF EZ Gel cannot be dissolved with hyaluronidase. This is why conservative placement and correct patient selection matter.
PRF EZ Gel is not expected to migrate like some long-lasting synthetic fillers can, but swelling or unevenness may occur temporarily. Technique and anatomy matter.
PRF EZ Gel may be suitable for patients with mild under-eye hollowness, thin or crepey skin, fine lines, early facial volume loss, neck crepiness, or patients wanting a subtle, autologous treatment option. It is a good option for those who do not want to commit to HA fillers or are looking at temporary volumisation alternatives to HA fillers before an event
PRF EZ Gel may not be suitable if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, medically unwell, have an active infection, have certain blood disorders, have very low platelets, are taking certain medications, or need surgical correction rather than injectable treatment.
We do not recommend PRF EZ Gel during pregnancy or breastfeeding. Elective aesthetic treatments are best delayed until after this period.
Yes. PRF EZ Gel can be combined with treatments depending on your skin, anatomy, and treatment goals. More treatments do not automatically mean better results. A proper plan matters. We avoid mixing different products in one syringe due to lack of evidence of these methods and safety is our priority.
PRF EZ Gel may support skin quality and healing as part of an acne scar plan, but it is unlikely to correct acne scars on its own. Acne scarring often needs combination treatment such as subcision, resurfacing, microneedling, Tixel, RF, or injectables depending on scar type.
PRF EZ Gel may help improve fine neck lines and crepey skin. Deeper neck lines, loose skin, or muscle bands may need a different or combined treatment approach.
PRF EZ Gel may help improve thin, crepey skin on the hands. If there is significant volume loss, other treatments may be more suitable.
PRF has emerging evidence in aesthetic medicine for skin quality, texture, elasticity, and facial rejuvenation. However, the evidence for PRF EZ Gel specifically is still developing, and studies vary in quality and protocol. It is promising, but it should not be sold as a miracle treatment.
Expect subtle, gradual improvement in skin quality, crepiness, fine lines, and mild hollowing. Do not expect dramatic lifting, major volume replacement, or surgical-level correction.
PRF EZ Gel may be chosen when a patient wants a softer, more natural-looking result, especially in delicate areas where filler may not be ideal. It can be useful for patients who want tissue support and skin quality improvement rather than obvious volume.
The best way to know is through consultation. PRF EZ Gel is useful for the right patient, in the right area, with realistic expectations. It is not a magic fix, but when selected properly, it can be a very elegant treatment.
