That evidence does not mean every peel should be combined with every microneedling treatment, or that every skin concern will respond in the same way.
The combination may be considered for concerns such as uneven texture and selected atrophic acne scars. The exact indication, peel, microneedling parameters and treatment interval should be individualised.
The skin is assessed and prepared before treatment. The peel and microneedling components are then performed according to the chosen protocol. Because both treatments deliberately interact with the skin barrier, suitability and aftercare matter more than they do with a simple facial.
Redness, sensitivity, tightness, dryness and some flaking can occur. The degree varies with peel type, needling depth and individual skin response. Sun protection and a deliberately boring barrier-supportive routine are usually more useful afterwards than throwing six active ingredients at freshly treated skin.

Treatment may need to be postponed or avoided with active infection, significant barrier disruption, active inflammatory skin disease in the treatment area, certain recent procedures or other contraindications identified during consultation. A history of abnormal scarring or pigmentary complications should also be discussed.
They can be combined in selected protocols. The safety and usefulness of doing so depend on the peel, microneedling parameters, skin type, indication and practitioner assessment.
Evidence is most relevant to atrophic acne scars. It is not a treatment for every scar type, and active acne may need to be controlled separately.
There is no honest universal number. Scar type, severity, skin response and treatment parameters all influence the course. Your plan should be reviewed rather than sold as a fixed promise.
Freshly treated skin is more vulnerable to irritation. Follow the clinic’s specific aftercare instructions regarding makeup, skincare and sun exposure.
